Blast from the past – Government funded sick pay

13th July 2020

Some of you may have overlooked (in all this chaos) that way back in February the Government announced that the first two weeks of an employee’s SSP for COVID related sickness would be recoverable from HMRC.

There are some limiters – you have to employ fewer than 250 people as of the end of February. You must also ensure that you have an isolation note or a GP letter from the employee.

The portal for making the claims is up and running so get claiming. We can make the claim on your behalf subject to you being eligible. We have a simple form for you to complete and then you can leave the rest to us. Email Niki or Shirley for the template form.

Keep us up-to-date

We just ♥ it when you keep us up-to-date with what’s going on in your business but here is your reminder just in case you need a nudge, tell us when:

  • You promote someone to director;
  • You award pay increases;
  • An employee leaves or joins;
  • An employee becomes pregnant / gets sick / moves house / gets married / gets divorced / is widowed, and
  • Employee changes bank account.
