Three years from your staging date you will be required to go through the re-enrolment process. This means that anyone who has ceased or opted out of the workplace pension more than 12 months from your re-enrolment date, will once again be assessed and auto-enrolled if eligible.
It is worth warning employees that this is going to happen. They will not believe that it has been so long since they last went through the opt-out process and probably will be unhappy that they have to do it again.
Sorry, tis the law. If they choose to opt out of the pension, every three years or so, they will be re-enrolled.
As a business, you do have some choice over your re-enrolment date; you can bring it forward up to three months or equally push it back giving you a six month re-enrolment window.
We will re-enrol on the three-year anniversary unless you shout up.
